What We Design

Design Categories

Every room we design starts with how you use it, and ends with cabinetry detailed to the exact dimensions of your space.

Custom kitchen with painted perimeter cabinetry and a wood island

Kitchen Design

Full kitchen cabinetry design, from layout and storage planning through to finishes and hardware.

Your kitchen is planned around how you actually cook, gather and store. We work through the layout, the working triangle, island seating and every inch of storage before a single cabinet is specified, then carry the design through door style, finish, countertop coordination and hardware so the finished room reads as one considered whole.

  • Layout and storage planning
  • Island, pantry and appliance integration
  • Door style, finish and hardware selection
Frameless walnut cabinetry with slim reveals and concealed hardware

European Cabinet Design

Clean, frameless European cabinetry with concealed hardware and precise, minimal detailing.

Frameless construction gives you wider openings, full-access interiors and uninterrupted runs of door fronts. We detail tight, consistent reveals, concealed soft-close hardware and integrated appliance panels so the room stays calm and architectural, with handleless or slim-profile pulls where you want the cabinetry to disappear.

  • Frameless, full-access construction
  • Concealed and handleless hardware options
  • Integrated appliance and tall-unit panels

Traditional Cabinet Design

Classic door profiles, furniture-grade detailing and timeless finishes for traditional interiors.

Raised panel and shaker doors, crown and light rail mouldings, furniture bases, turned legs and glass display fronts, detailed the way traditional cabinetry should be. We match profiles and finishes to the architecture of the home so new cabinetry looks as though it has always belonged there.

  • Raised panel, shaker and inset door profiles
  • Crown, light rail and furniture-grade detailing
  • Painted and stained finishes matched to the home

Bathroom Vanities

Vanities and bath cabinetry designed around the room, its plumbing and its storage needs.

Bath cabinetry has to work around plumbing, outlets and tight clearances. We design vanities, linen towers, medicine storage and make-up stations to the real dimensions of the room, in moisture-appropriate finishes, with drawer banks planned around what actually needs to be stored.

  • Single and double vanities sized to the room
  • Linen towers, medicine and drawer storage
  • Plumbing and clearance coordination

Home Offices & Open Workspaces

Built-in desks, shelving and storage for open workspaces and dedicated home offices.

Built-in desks, file storage, printer cabinets and display shelving planned around the way you work, including cable management and outlet placement. Whether it is a dedicated study or a workspace carved out of an open plan, the cabinetry is detailed to match the rest of the home.

  • Display and library shelving
  • Cable, outlet and equipment planning

How We Work

Design & Project Services

Measurement, drawings, pricing, ordering and on-site support, the work that keeps a cabinetry project accurate, on budget and on schedule.

On Site Measurements

On-site measuring so the design is built around the room as it actually is.

We measure on site before the design is finalised, walls, ceiling heights, windows, soffits, plumbing and electrical locations, and any out-of-square conditions. Accurate field dimensions are the single best protection against costly surprises at installation.

  • Field verification of every wall and opening
  • Plumbing, electrical and HVAC locations noted
  • Out-of-square and existing conditions documented

Design Services

Expert guidance at every stage from design to installation.

You are guided at every stage: layout options, storage strategy, door and finish selection, and coordination with your builder, designer or contractor. Door samples and cabinet box samples let you see and handle the actual materials before you commit.

  • Layout and storage strategy
  • Door samples and cabinet box samples
  • Coordination with your trades and design team

3D Renderings

See the space before anything is ordered or built.

Photo-real 3D renderings let you walk the room before a single cabinet is ordered. Sightlines, proportions, finish combinations and hardware can all be reviewed and adjusted while changes still cost nothing but a revision.

  • Realistic views of the finished room
  • Finish and hardware combinations compared
  • Changes made before anything is ordered

Shop Drawings

Complete shop drawings for accurate pricing and installation.

Complete, dimensioned shop drawings, plans, elevations and sections, so your installer, builder and other trades all work from the same information. Drawings also give you an accurate basis for pricing and for coordinating countertops, appliances and plumbing.

  • Dimensioned plans, elevations and sections
  • Appliance, plumbing and countertop coordination
  • One shared reference for every trade

Permit Drawings (Interior Only)

Interior permit drawings for cabinetry and millwork work, prepared for submittal to your municipality.

For interior cabinetry and millwork projects that require a permit, we prepare drawings suitable for submittal to your local building department. Plans, elevations, sections and notes are detailed to convey scope, dimensions and compliance with the interior work being permitted. We focus on the interior scope only, so your general contractor or architect remains responsible for the overall building permit and any structural, mechanical or electrical drawings.

  • Interior cabinetry and millwork permit drawings
  • Plans, elevations, sections and scope notes
  • Prepared for municipal submittal review

Product Selection

Product selection guided by how the cabinetry will actually be used.

We help you select the right line, construction, door style, finish and hardware for the way the space will be used and for the budget you have. In-stock cabinetry is available in multiple finishes and styles with delivery in as little as one week when the schedule is tight.

Value Engineering

Pricing, value engineering and cost analysis so the budget is clear.

When the first estimate is above budget, we look for the changes that protect the design: adjusting construction, door style, interior accessories or the mix of stock and specified product. Cost analysis is presented clearly so you can decide where money is best spent.

  • Transparent pricing and cost analysis
  • Alternatives that protect the design intent
  • Budget reviewed before anything is ordered

Cabinet Ordering & Scheduling

Order placement and scheduling handled on your behalf.

We place the order, confirm the acknowledgement against the approved drawings and manage the delivery schedule against your construction timeline, so cabinetry arrives when the site is ready for it rather than weeks early or late.

  • Order placement and acknowledgement review
  • Delivery scheduled around your site
  • Coordination with your build timeline

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often from homeowners, builders, designers and contractors.

How long does kitchen design take?
It depends on the size of the project and how quickly selections are made. A typical kitchen moves from consultation and on-site measurements through design and 3D renderings in a few weeks, with revisions in between. Ordering and delivery are scheduled after the drawings are approved, and in-stock cabinetry can be delivered in as little as one week.
Do you work with builders?
Yes. Bastom Inc. works with homeowners, builders, designers and contractors, with 12 years of experience across high-end Design-Build projects and multi-family development. Builders receive complete shop drawings, clear pricing and delivery scheduled around the construction timeline.
Do you provide measurements?
Yes. We measure on site before the design is finalised, documenting walls, ceiling heights, windows, plumbing and electrical locations and any out-of-square conditions, so the cabinetry is designed around the room as it actually is.
Do you design bathrooms?
Yes. We design bathroom vanities and bath cabinetry, single and double vanities, linen towers, medicine and drawer storage, planned around the room, its plumbing and its storage needs.
Can I bring Pinterest inspiration?
Absolutely. Inspiration images are one of the fastest ways to understand what you are drawn to. You can upload them directly in our online design consultation, along with floorplans, existing room photos and appliance specifications.
Do you offer 3D renderings?
Yes. 3D renderings are part of our process so you can see the space before anything is ordered or built, and compare finish and hardware combinations while changes still cost nothing.
Do you sell cabinetry?
Yes. We handle product selection, pricing, order placement and scheduling, including in-stock cabinetry available in multiple finishes and styles with delivery in as little as one week. We are more than a supplier, we are involved in every aspect of the process, from design and product selection to detailed shop drawings and installation support.
